I cannot believe how much has happened in the last few months! My first Sunday at my new church was July 5th. I am extremely grateful to be here. I am keenly aware of God's blessings while living amongst the great Oak trees, finding tree frogs just about everywhere, viewing the beautiful gardens, and the lovely houses in the historic district where I live. I have visited 20 homes in 2 1/2 months and I look forward to visiting more church families, soon.
The church is a country church with a rich history. There is a beautiful pipe organ in this tiny church with beautiful stained glass windows and a stunning baby grand piano. In the first service, we are delighted to have a guitar player in the service as well.
We have contemporary music at the start of the service and then traditional, favorite, hymns during the worship service. We also have Powerpoint. I have been putting all the words to the hymns and all the parts of the service up on the screen including special screens for my sermon.
I dream of being able to do more artistic things with the Powerpoint presentations during worship...actually, I want to be able to create flash movies. If anyone knows of a software option that will work for me that is less expensive than Media Shout, would you please let me know?
In the midst of all of these church changes, we have changed houses, my daughter started High School and is in dance and the Japan Pop Culture Club; my husband is participating in the Masons; and I am getting ready to join the Garden Club.
As I said, life is moving fast. I know these are precious days and I long to savor every moment. I just wish I could slow down the pace...just a bit.
