I did this for a dare and for the Children/Quilt ATC swap. For the dare I needed to be inspired by one of the beautiful pieces of art on the Catwalk this week. This is the LO I used as my inspiration: I was inspired by her layers and use of ephemera. I did my ephemera work digitally. I made my own digi kit using ephemera and then printed the digi piece on photo paper. From there I added textured paper, antique lace and ink. TFL!
My family moved away from my home town in 1980 because my father was transferred for work. I never thought I would be back. I dreamed of showing my husband and daughter where I grew up. I wanted them to see our house, our church, my schools, the lakes, everything. Last year, I was transferred back to the area for MY job! Today, I led a grave side service by the lake that my Middle School is located on. As we drove around the lake, I got to show my daughter the wild flowers I picked as a child. The field where I rode horses. The beautiful Oak covered scenic roads. She ate alligator tail for lunch on a dock on the lake where we held our Sunday School parties. There were two other aspects of the day. A few weeks ago, a friend died. She told me she would be sending love notes from heaven and they would be rainbows and butterflies. We saw butterflies ALL DAY today. Finally, a few days ago, I was preparing for our Easter service and looked up in the sky to see these clouds in the shape of an arrow that was pointing straight up. It sure seemed that we could feel the love notes from heaven today.
