O God, You are my God; early will I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.
So have I looked for you in the sanctuary, to see Your power and your glory. Because your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.
Thus will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my mouth shall praise you with joyful lips.
When I remember You upon my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; your right hand upholds me.
But those who seek my life to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall fall by the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals.
But the ruler shall rejoice in God; everyone who swears by God shall glory; but the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
Glory to God: Lover, Beloved and Love; As it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever. Amen.
Being on vacation gives me a moment to reflect on where I have been since I began my journey into scrap booking. There have been tons of people who have inspired me and I want to share some of the people and the reasons they inspire me.
The first local scrapbook store that I fell in love with was K2. Not only did they quickly become my friends but one of the owners was my doctor as well. The store is a vibrant place full of cool things and I spent a lot of money there! I LOVE them! Not only, did they teach me about all the coolest things but Karen also introduced me to the scrap booking blog. She so inspired me that I made this one of my own. When I asked her what else I should do for my blog she said I should create a banner. Well, that got me going into digi as well. See what I mean about inspiration? Karen keeps a rockin' blog that is always good for a smile.
While I was at K2 I met this soft spoken dynamo who knows how to use power tools, run marathons, and make delicate ATC cards at the same time. My daughter and I took classes with Nikki and we loved her from the start! One day, she was telling Karen about the online scrapbooking world. I went home and discovered scrapbooking message boards. As they say, the rest is history!
In the online scrapbooking world I quickly met Nancy Jones. She is a hoot! She taught me about layering and I will never see paper the same again!
On the other side of the spectrum is the always gentle and calm Becky Thackston who rocks the journal strips and taught me the importance of a strong border. I love Becky!
Nancy also introduced me to the work of Cheryl Mezzetti. I was completely blown away. There is so much that inspires me about her art. Not the least of which is that it is always tasteful and classy! What really inspires me is the crisp clean way that her edges look. She is a perfectionist in everything and it certainly shows!
As I was inspired to learn more and know more, I started looking up tutorials on the web. I read tons of them all of the time. I am addicted to them because I want to know how people do what they do! Allison has the best clearing house of tutorials anywhere. She works so hard to provide us with all of these links, she amazes me!
In the sketch department I love Page Maps and even got to partner once with the awesome Di Hickman, another great sketch artist.
I am a deeply passionate person and the colors and depth of pattern to the designs of Marah Johnson resonate with me. Whenever I work with her products, I feel that I am getting to the depths of my feelings. Amazing how a designer can help someone do that, isn't it?!
Finally, you inspire me! I love having people read my blog and sharing with you what is inspiring me at the moment. Also, responding to all of your work on line helps me to be inspired to put together the next idea, project, or sketch. Thank you for reading my blog and being a part of my life.
Now, to thank you...go check out these wonderful blogs, leave a comment on their blogs and come back and leave a comment here to be entered into a drawing for a RAK.
