about swirls, or movement on my pages. Where did this obsession come from you might ask? Do you remember when you were a kid and you spun around in circles making yourself dizzy? I always loved doing that (not the dizzy part but the free feeling I got from spinning.) I also loved free style dance and wished that I had the physical strength to leap and spin like the people I saw in the movies or on TV.
When I was in my 20s I was hit by a drunk driver and sustained some significant injuries. I have had years of physical therapy and live in chronic pain. I wish I had the ability to be as free (physically) as I was before the accident.
Now, when I celebrate life, I like to think of free movements. Swirls, circles, and movement in general are creative expressions of joy and freedom for me. I might not be able to fling myself carefree into ocean waves or leap across a small stream but I can express that sense of freedom through my art where my limitations are only ones of imagination, not physical limitations.
